Southern Oregon Repertory Singers: “Charm Me Asleep”

The 65-voice Southern Oregon Repertory Singers, led by Paul French, present “Charm Me Asleep,” a diverse program of lyrical, romantic, life-enhancing choral music. The concert’s centerpiece is Gabriel Fauré’s “Requiem,” performed in its original chamber orchestra version. The program also features a playful serenade by Franz Schubert, French songs by Dutch composer Henk Badings, spirited works by African-American composer Adolphus Hailstork, and an atmospheric setting of Native American poetry for choir and flute by former Repertory Singers’ Composer in Residence, Craig Kingsbury. Guest artists include soprano Taylor Pulsipher, baritone Dan Gibbs, and flutist Sherril Wood. This richly varied concert showcases the choir’s versatility and commitment to presenting choral masterworks from diverse traditions, promising an engaging experience for both longtime choral music enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
