Pacific Power has made substantial progress in restoring electricity to customers affected by severe winter storms in southern Oregon and northern California. As of Wednesday afternoon, 97% of impacted customers have had their power restored, with crews now focusing on the remaining outages in Grants Pass, Medford, and Klamath Falls areas.
Over 300 field crews and personnel are working tirelessly to repair more than 200 spans of downed power lines, broken poles, and other damaged electrical equipment. These dedicated workers have faced challenging conditions, including three feet of snow in some locations and the need to clear fallen trees blocking access roads.
Tom Eide, Pacific Power’s vice president of operations, acknowledged the difficult circumstances, stating, “These are tough conditions to work in, without a doubt, but our crews are doing everything they can, working around the clock to get the power back on.” He also expressed gratitude for customers’ patience during this time.
Pacific Power expects full restoration by Thursday evening. Customers can check current restoration estimates on the company’s website or report outages by phone or text. Those with safety concerns are advised to contact local service providers by dialing 2-1-1.
As crews continue their efforts, Pacific Power remains committed to restoring power to all affected customers as quickly and safely as possible.
