Jackson County is gearing up to welcome visitors back to Emigrant Lake this summer. After years of drought, the lake is nearly full again, setting the stage for a great season. County Roads and Parks Director Steve Lambert says the park has seen significant upgrades to get ready for the crowds. Crews have replaced aging sidewalks and staircases, and they’ve finished a major renovation of the Oak Slope tent campground, making camping more accessible and inviting for families.
With the water back, popular non-motorized watercraft rentals like paddleboards and kayaks are set to return. Jackson County is actively seeking new concession partners to offer food, drinks, and these watercraft rentals on the lakeshore. In the past, paddleboard rentals and lessons were a big hit at Emigrant Lake, and Lambert is optimistic a new operator will continue that tradition.
The county’s goal is clear: modernize the facilities and bring back amenities so that locals and tourists alike will make Emigrant Lake a go-to summer destination once again.
